HOW TO APPLY FOR REGISTRATION WITH SHEEP FROM ANOTHER BABYDOLL SOUTHDOWN REGISTRY: ORSC: Open Registration Standards Committee
It is understood that any Babydoll Southdown that may apply for registration with NABSSAR must meet the breed Standard as outlined in the NABSSAR By laws. You may apply to register through the NABSSAR Open Registry if you have a Babydoll Southdown Sheep previously registered with any other Babydoll Southdown Registry.
The Registration Process: A ewe or ram that is previously registered with any other Babydoll Southdown Registry must go through an inspection process to obtain registration with NABSSAR.
How to Apply for open registration
1). You must be a NABSSAR member to register sheep. If you are not a member of NABSSAR you can click here to join. Any NABSSAR member that owns sheep meeting the NABSSAR breed standard that is previously registered with another Babydoll Southdown Sheep Registry, you may apply to transfer those sheep to NABSSAR by printing the Open Registry Application below and complete the process listed.
3). Must submit 4 clear photos of the animal standing squarely, each side, front and back. The photo must be clear, close, and include the entire sheep in the photo. Please only have one sheep in each photo.
4). Proof of height. Photo of sheep standing next to a yardstick or wicket measured level at shoulders and perpendicular to the ground. Your sheep will need to be on a flat and level surface. Measured level at shoulders to take photo of height and when taking the photo be level with the sheep and not standing over it so accurate measurement can be seen. Be sure to hold any measuring instrument perpendicular to the ground. When using a yardstick, mark the 24 inch measurement with a black marker so it is easily seen in the photos.
5). Make a Photo copy of current registration papers and copies of any available extended pedigrees, or any other information to include with your mailing.
6). Include Registration Fee: $8.00 per sheep registration or transfer plus, $10.00 for viewing photos and documents. Send a total of $18.00 per sheep when applying for Open Registration.
7). MAIL OPEN REGISTRY FORM, WORK ORDER, COPY OF REGISTRATION PAPERS, EXTENDED PEDIGREE, PHOTOS, AND PAYMENT TO:

The Open Registry Standards Committee will review each submitted application individually. If your sheep meets the requirements as well as the NABSSAR Breed Standard, your application will be forwarded to the registrar and the certificate of registry will be granted and mailed to you. Improper filed application or incorrectly sent applications along with insufficient amount of funds will be returned. This may cause delays in this process. All applications for registry require photocopies of previous certificates of registration. Please do not send in the original certificates as they will not be returned.
